Watches, warnings in effect for Texas, Houston area

HOUSTON – Beryl is shifting throughout Texas as a tropical storm after knocking out energy to hundreds of thousands and leaving at the very least two individuals useless within the better Houston space.

Beryl turned a Class 1 hurricane after shifting via the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday evening and made landfall round 4 a.m. in Matagorda.

THE LATEST: Beryl continues to maneuver via Texas

Because it moved via southeast Texas, the hurricane had most sustained winds of 75 mph and gusts close to 90 mph.

The tropical storm is steadily weakening and is predicted to grow to be a post-tropical cyclone on Tuesday.
