WATCH: Poet Amanda Gorman recites ‘This Sacred Scene’ at 2024 Democratic National Convention
Poet and activist Amanda Gorman spoke on the Democratic Nationwide Conference in Chicago on Wednesday, an evening targeted on preventing “for our freedoms,” from democracy to reproductive rights and extra.

The previous Nationwide Youth Poet Laureate recited her poem “This Sacred Scene” in entrance of the conference crowd. The piece celebrated the prospect of Vice President Kamala Harris as the primary girl of shade to develop into U.S. president.
In 2021, Gorman learn her poem “The Hill We Climb” moments after President Joe Biden was sworn in at his inauguration.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz may even formally settle for the vice presidential nomination, a day earlier than Harris takes the stage because the official nominee.
