N.B. Power accused of safety violations in power-line worker’s death
The costs allege that N.B. Energy failed to offer correct directions to make sure the staff have been secure whereas eradicating ice from energy strains, failed to offer coaching on clear ice, didn’t take all affordable precautions to guard staff, didn’t put together a written transportation course of for injured or in poor health staff, and didn’t present a primary assist equipment on the worksite.
N.B. Energy has not but entered a plea in courtroom. Spokesperson Dominic Couture didn’t specify how the corporate plans to proceed.
The utility “has been working with WorkSafeNB all through their investigation to make sure a complete understanding of all elements concerned and to take each attainable step to forestall future incidents,” Couture stated by e mail.
Couture didn’t say what, if any, adjustments N.B. Energy made to its security procedures after the incident.
