Flights temporarily suspended at Halifax airport after airplane landing incident

HALIFAX — An plane incident on the Halifax Stanfield Worldwide Airport prompted non permanent delays to all flight operations Saturday evening.

Airport spokesperson Tiffany Chase says at roughly 9:30 p.m. Saturday, an Air Canada Specific flight operated by Pal Airways arriving from St. John’s, N.L., skilled an incident upon touchdown.

Air Canada spokesperson Peter Fitzpatrick says the aircraft skilled a “suspected touchdown gear problem” after arrival Saturday evening and the plane was unable to succeed in the terminal and the crew and 73 passengers have been off-loaded by bus.

Fitzpatrick says no person on board was injured, however a spokesperson from the Nova Scotia RCMP, who responded to the incident alongside paramedics, says minor accidents have been reported.

Chase says flight operations have been suspended after the incident whereas ready for clearance that airfield operations might proceed, and one of many airport’s runways has since resumed common operations.

The reason for the incident is unknown and pending investigation.
