Delta flight diverts to New York after spoiled food served
NEW YORK –
A Delta flight from Detroit to Amsterdam was diverted to New York’s Kennedy Airport on Wednesday after passengers had been served spoiled meals, airline officers mentioned.
The redeye flight took off from Detroit round 11 p.m. Tuesday and landed in New York at 4 a.m. “after stories {that a} portion of the Principal Cabin in-flight meal service had been spoiled,” a Delta spokesperson mentioned in an announcement.
A spokesperson for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs the airport, mentioned 14 of the airplane’s 277 passengers in addition to 10 crew members had been handled by medical personnel when the flight landed. None of them required hospitalization.
It was not clear how many individuals in complete ate the spoiled meals.
Delta mentioned it will examine the incident.
“This isn’t the service Delta is understood for and we sincerely apologize to our prospects for the inconvenience and delay of their travels,” the Delta spokesperson mentioned.
The Port Authority mentioned passengers had been being supplied with resort rooms and that every one can be rebooked to proceed to their locations.
